Assistant Youth And Sports Minister Calls For The Legalization Of Prostitution; Says It Will Help In The Generation Of Resources
The assistant minister of Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET) at the ministry of youth and sports, Min. Mallias Z. Sheriff is calling on the government of the Republic of Liberia to embark on the legalization of prostitution in the country.
According to the minister, the legalization of prostitution in Liberia will help to boost the government’s income generation.
Speaking at the famous intellectual Center on Carey street, CEIO, Minister Sheriff said It’s about time we become innovative and tap into the revenue stream of prostitution. He furthered that other countries around the world are hugely benefiting from prostitution and Liberia is no exception.
According to the Minister, the UK government generates approximately 8 billion from prostitution. And such monies are donated to Liberia through NGOs and other means. He further lamented that Money generated from prostitution could be used to build schools, hospitals, empower women, etc.
