Lawyers representing Alternative National Congress Political Leader Alexander Cummings have suffered setbacks in the criminal trial involving their client at Criminal Court ‘A’ at the Temple of Justice.
Judge Roosevelt Willie Thursday denied Cummings’ lawyers’ request to the court seeking to overturn Magistrate Jomah Jallah’s decision to prevent the ANC Political Leader from providing evidence against himself at the Monrovia City Court in connection with his criminal trial.
Judge Willie’s ruling states that Magistrate Jallah’s January 26, 2022 decision to allow the ANC Political Leader to surrender the original copy of the framework document of the Collaborating Political Parties is legal since the CPP’s framework is a public document and self-incriminating.
Judge Willie’s ruling further mandated the ANC Political Leader to surrender the CPP’s original framework document within 72-hours beginning as of the date of this judgment.
But, defense lawyers led by Cllr. Abrahim Sillah took exception to Judge Roosevelt Willie’s February 10, 2022 ruling, saying they will take advantage of the law controlling as provided by law.
The ANC Political Leader Alexander Cummings and his two officials are before the Monrovia City Court on allegations of forgery and criminal conspiracy.
