Following the sudden and shocking death of agent Melvin Earley, The Executive Protection Service said it has launched a full-scale investigation to establish any potential reason for an alleged and or claimed suicide. According to preliminary reports, the long-serving EPS agent allegedly shot himself at about 06:03 am on Friday, February 19, 2021, in Tappita, Nimba County while on duty during the time of the incident.
The Death news of agent Earley has been greeted with mixed views so far as some are pointing accusing fingers while others are speculating on the exact cause of his death. Agent Earley has been with EPS since the restructuring of the service after the Liberian Civil crisis.
It is still unclear what exactly prompted the sudden incident but according to sources lodging on the compound of the Jackson F. Doe Hospital in Tappita who are part of the President’s ongoing citizens engagement tour, they allegedly heard three gun sounds early Friday morning before the confirmation of his death news by authorities of the EPS.
While others are now allegedly linking his death news to depression and disappointment but only the findings from the investigation will establish the actual cause of death. Meanwhile, The Executive Protection Service (EPS) regrets the sudden death of agent Melvin Earley and therefore extends its condolences to the bereaved family.
