Keita finalizes squad for WAFU Nations Cup
Liberia men’s under-15 head coach Ansu Keita and technical staff have selected 20 players for the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone ‘A’) under-15 Nations Cup finals in Guinea.
It followed a training camp at the George Weah technical center in Careysburg from 3-9 May, which was preceded by a session at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on 1 May.
The squad is largely made up of players, who took part in the inaugural edition of the Mano River Union football for peace tournament in Sierra Leone in April.
Emmanuel Monger (Ambassadors), Ben Siryon Yoko (Nation One), Reuben Henry (Zodiac Star, Harbel), and Prince S. Toe (LEAD MFA) were dropped while there were inclusions for Fallah Johnson, Jr. and David Menson, Jr., who were called-up during the weeklong session in Careysburg.
The under-15 warmed up with a 2-1 victory over Shaita FC (male) on 8 May.
Liberia will play Sierra Leone on 21 May, Guinea on 22 May, and Mali on 23 May.
The top team will meet the winner from the other group involving Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania, and Senegal in Bissau, Guinea Bissau from 28-30 May.
