Liberty Party Ex-Vice Presidential Candidate Harrison Kanwea rejects Senator Lawrence appointment
The former Vice Standard Bearer of the Liberty Party, Harrison Kanwea, has rejected a request from Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence to serve on the “Special Committee of Inquiry”.
Senator Lawrence, as Political Leader of the Liberty Party, appointed several individuals including Mr. Kanwea to investigate allegations of numerous errors, potential alterations and procedural breaches of the Party’s constitution.
But, in a letter addressed to the Liberty Party Political Leader, Mr. Kanweah said the Party has a Claims, Petitions, and Investigations Committee that can investigate the matter.
The former Liberty Party Vice Standard Bearer also said his decision to decline his appointment is based on the fact that Senator Lawrence, a party to the allegation, is not qualified to constitute a committee to investigate such compliant.
According to him, it would be unnecessary for him, as a member of National Advisory Council, to form part of such Committee because it is the Council that reviews the works of all Committees including the National Executive Committee of the Party.
Meanwhile, Senator Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence has not made public response to Mr. Kanwea’s rejection to her request to investigate the alleged alteration of the Party’s constitution.
