Credible reports from the Liberia Executive Mansion-Official Seat of the Country’s Presidency has hinted that President George M. Weah may likely dismiss his entire Cabinet before the new year.
Reasons for his proposed action has not been revealed to the African Monitor. A sourse close to the office of the President who pleaded for a strict anonymity over fear of losing his job said the President is not happy with the general performance of most of his close confidants.
The source did not however state as to whether the decision will only affect his senior officials in government.
Recently, President Weah’ CDC suffered a massive defeat following the conduct of a mid-term senatorial election across the country. Many within the corridor of power are also of the opinion that this could be a major reason for such decision ahead of 2023.
It can be recalled that former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf took a similar decision in the later years of 2010 to formulate a Cabinet team that could take her to the 2011 elections.
