President Weah Departs for Turkey to Attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum
Monrovia, Liberia – His Excellency President George Manneh Weah departs the country today, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, to attend the second edition of the “Antalya Diplomacy Forum”.
The Liberian Leader will be among other heads of state and governments from Africa, Europe, South America, and Asia attending the three-day forum under the theme: “Recoding Diplomacy”
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum which will run from March 11 – 13, 2022, contains a number of panel discussions on Recoding Diplomacy, Democratic Governance, Leadership and diplomacy, A strategy Autonomy for Europe, Development in Africa, Resolution of Maritime Disputes, and Green Economy just to name a few.
On the sideline of the conference Saturday, March 12, 2022, Pres. Weah will hold a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Dr. George Manneh Weah is being accompanied by Ministers, Hon. Dee-Maxwell Kemayah (Foreign Affairs); Hon. Mawine Diggs, Commerce, and Industry; Hon. Ledgewood Rennie (Information, Culture Affairs, and Tourism); and Hon. Trokon T. Kpui (State Without Portfolio); and the Commissioner of Maritime, Hon. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, among others.
The “Antalya Diplomacy Forum” is a high-level gathering of professionals and world leaders, including political leaders, diplomats, opinion makers, and academics. It presents an excellent platform for regional and global leaders from the spheres of diplomacy, policy, and business to exchange ideas and address international challenges.
While the president is away, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Nathaniel F. McGill will act as chair of the cabinet in close consultation with the vice president of Liberia, Madam Jewel Howard Taylor, and the President via telephone.
