Will Washington invite Weah for Biden’s Inauguration on January 20, 2021?

Martin K. N. Kollie writes..

The US–Liberia diplomatic relations seem cold and low-profile since President GMW assumed office on January 22, 2018. Has Washington turned its back on ex-Soccer Star George M. Weah? Pundits of Diplomacy may settle for affirmative on this note or inquiry.

On November 7, 2020, Pres. Weah sent an official congratulatory message to President-elect Joe Biden. Since then, there has been no formal response or acknowledgment from Washington. Did Washington press delete to trash his message?

U.S President-Elect

In this latest communication from Washington, President-elect Joe Biden is officially acknowledging Pres. Nana Akufo-Addo’s congratulatory message. Why not Weah too?

This communication or formal response from Washington was published yesterday by Mr. Eugene Arhin – The Communication Director of President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana. PLEASE READ.

Trump is yet to acknowledge or recognize Weah as President of Liberia. Will President-elect Joe Biden do? Will Biden invite GMW to Capitol Hill for his inauguration? The chances of GMW smelling anywhere around Washington seem farfetched and beyond impossible.

Barclay, Tubman, Tolbert, Doe, Bryant, and Ellen were officially invited by Washington during their tenures. Why not Weah especially after 3 years in power? Washington sees and treats GMW differently.
